so i haven't been taking any pictures in Paris because then i would feel like a dumb tourist. the first trip on the metro was pretty nerve-wracking, but i have muddled my way through somehow.
i have just discovered i am much more efficient at writing blogs when i don't have internet.
my host mom's sister owns a cafe next door. no, really. it's called arte cafe, and it's super tiny. every tuesday she hosts english-french conversation, and i went, and then ten of us filled up the entire cafe. the french people were: mickey, allen, anne, hagathe, beatrice, et tesse (host mom's sister). the english-speakers were: moi, australian geophysicist who i forget his name, tom from york, and american woman who married a frenchman and i forget her name. it was super fun, though i don't speak french very well, but they are very accommodating.
classes start tomorrow. i forgot to check the results of the french placement test so i don't know what french class i'm in, but i'm betting i'm in the lowest one, which is at 11 tomorrow. if i'm not, well, then, i've wasted half an hour on the metro. and then i will go shopping, because the soldes (sales) start tomorrow!! Paris only goes on sale twice a year, in january and july. and everything's like 50% off. and i know there is an h&m, zara, and etam on the street near the center...muah hah hah
funny thing, in the bathroom sink, the cold handles turns towards you and the hot handle turns away from you.
