Life Tip: If you're interning somewhere for the summer, and there is the option to start a 401(k), don't do it. Especially if you would need at least $5000 in the account to keep it with the company, and at least $1000 to roll it over into an IRA, and the only other option is to take out the money with a penalty for withdrawing before you're 59 and a half. And, moreso if the interest rate is going to drop multiple percentage points in the next few months with no end in sight as the Fed tries to stave off a recession.
So far, it's lost $300. That's 300 pairs of socks. So, after taxes and such, I guess it would just be 215 pairs of socks. Still a lot of socks!
only 143 pairs of european socks, though. it's killing me.
i dont know what i'm going to do for spring break. it looks like i'll be headed home, because i have to fly out of paris anyway. and i have no more money to spend on travelling. but don't worry, europe, i'll be back!
i've decided to wait until i get home to buy a new computer. even though it would definitely be cheaper for me to buy one now (president's day sale) and, contrary to my father's beliefs, prices won't go down in a month.
i was going to get this one (clicky):
mainly because it's only $500. 14.1" screen (i want to go a bit smaller), webcam, dvd burner, 1GB ram, 160GB hard drive. i know, $500! but if i'm actually going to be replacing cassandra i think i want something with better battery life (2 hours and change, but it is only 5.4 lbs). and it has windows vista. which makes things run slowly and, most abhorrently, has screwed up solitaire and minesweeper. can't accept that. and i would have to pay extra for microsoft office. unless i get it illegally. but then i wouldnt be able to get SUPERCOOL templates online.
listening to wait wait don't tell me. "favorite time of the week"
