no internet from my computer. i've given up. so, still no more pictures. i think i definitely need a new computer. now i'm looking at this one (click):
$750, core 2 processor, 2 gig RAM, 200 gig hard drive, N wireless, dvd burner, webcam, 5.5 lbs. no bluetooth, but i can just get a dongle (teeheehee). wish i could get xp instead of vista though...
housing luck: excellent. i keep winning with housing. freshman year: paloma, kick-ass roommate. sophomore year: phi sig, two kick ass roommates. junior year: two room double in kimball, kick-ass roommate, then paris, then XANADU, with i'm sure a kick-ass roommate. let's hope my luck keeps for senior year.
job search luck: pretty shitty. i still haven't heard back from kayne anderson, and i was supposed to hear back a week ago. doesn't look good. and i just had an HR interview with liz claiborne. it went really well, but it's HR and not the manager in finance who would actually hire me. and HR person didn't ask me any finance or quantitative or analytical questions. and my resume is pretty weak on finance-y type stuff. so, we'll see, i won't be hearing back from them until "mid-april".
and, GAP had already rejected me. they didnt even bother to have a real person email me, they just put my email into their computer and i got a 'thanks, but no thanks, we actually hate you, don't reply to this email'. so i was like wow, i thought you were better than that. and THEN, yesterday, i get this email from a recruiter in the gap IT department. yes, that would stand for informational technology. and through the three emails he's sent me i've decided i would not like to work with him. but he's just the recruiter, so i wouldnt actually be working with him. he emails me, are you still available for a summer internship, we'd like to interview you. and i reply: um, yeah, but you do realize i'm an econ major and can't fix computers, right. and then he's like here are the job descriptions (both of them have, under "minimum qualifications", majoring in computer science or related field) what's a number we can reach you at. and then i was like here is my number in paris and after this date here is my number in the states. and then he was like we will probably schedule this after you get back. so, i'm just sitting here confused, and when they ask me in the interview why i'm qualified for the job since i'm not a CS major i will say, "i dont know, why don't you tell me?"
class work left: two papers (one on art history, one Persepolis movie review) and one final (french, grammar and vocab)
and i still need to go up the eiffel tower! maybe i'll do that tomorrow.
